Unprecedented
Revaluation Successful
Some
might say it couldn’t be done, but it was.
Using the latest remote sensing imaging tools, the most advanced
mobile computing technology, and the expertise of professional commercial
appraisers, over 5000 commercial properties were reviewed and
value-confirmed or re-valued in just three weeks.
Six commercial appraisers met in
Kansas City
,
Kansas
, in February 2006 to review their assigned areas using GPS-enabled
tablets with all the necessary GIS and CAMA data.
Then, working from their own desktops across the country, they used
a Web application linking orthos, oblique aerial imagery, street-view
images, GIS and CAMA data in order to confirm that the data was correct,
and if not, correct it and calculate a new value on the server back in
Kansas City. The project,
included a software application which will allow the county to review and
