GIS
Project Begins in Dearborn County Indiana
The
goal of this project is to develop a start-up GIS consisting of a
comprehensive, geo-referenced real property image attribute database
including individual unit addresses for all structures in the
jurisdiction, and a corrected street centerline file. The street
centerline file is expected to contain 1,000 miles of roads. Mobile
Video will also provide map coverages for orthophotography from USGS,
township boundaries, city boundaries, and census tracts and blocks.
Additionally, software applications will be provided to manage the data
during and after the project. Mobile Video estimates the database will
contain approximately 18,000 records for each improved parcel and 6,000
records for each secondary unit address, for a total of 24,000 address
units. The project is expected to be complete by the end of March, 2003.
Quick
Facts: Located southeast on Ohio border, 305 Square Miles,
16,000+ improved parcels, 46,000+ population.
